Does the Solar ETF Reflect the Chances of Obama 2.0?

Take a look at the Solar ETF’s performance over the past couple of years.   We, along with the President and most Democrats, were all lathered up about the “Green Economy” leading us into a new economy.    What a disaster!

Granted much of the losses are due to the European sovereign debt and fiscal crisis and China subsidies, but thank goodness we’re traders and cut our losses.    Will the electorate hold the White House accountable for its naïveté about a “green” economic expansion?

In a word, yes!! It’s too expensive to make. Solandra showed us that. The tax payers lost big on that one. Now, I hear there are 11 more Solandras. At what point do you start to research the cost versus how much you can sell for?
Only 7,000 GM Volts were sold. Millions was invested, now they are being recalled for having a defect that causes them to catch on fire.
Wind Farms are a joke. Still need electricity or it has to have constant wind. Plus it only covers just so much area. Boone Pickens made a fortune with subsidies but never produced 1 megawatt of power.
Seems like we continue to throw good money (tax Payer money) after bad. Kind of like trying to put a square block in a round hole. Not going to happen.
What about good ole LNG, plenty of it and cheap. They are already using it in F150’s and F250s. It’s use would cover a myraid of problems. JMO
